John Anderson was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts, but is a lifelong resident of Lapeer County. He graduated from North Branch High School in 1981. After bouncing around various universities, John eventually graduated from Rochester College in 2010, with Honors. His degree is in biblical studies. He recently finished training in Biblical Counseling from the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors and is working towards certification.
John has been married to his wife Danea for over 30 years. They have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
